9:08
Born in Gwaren as to an innkeeper and his wife with meagre means and not much potential in life. He has an sister (Amber) and later two younger twin brothers (Daric and Lornan).
9:18
His father dies when he is 10 years old. Aden and his two brothers scavenge around the city and sell their scraps to tinkers in the alienage.
9:26
Without a better option, Aden joins the city guard. Aden supplements his pay by taking bribes from criminals to 'look the other way', just to keep enough food on the table for his family. He mostly saves this indiscretion to help out alienage elves he remembers from his scavenging days.
9:29
After a few years of life as a city guard, Aden gets caught up in a brawl in the alienage when he takes a stand against the way fellow guardsmen treat a family of elves that he is friendly with. The guilty guardsman convinces a few of his colleagues to testify against Aden, citing his past bribery, and easily paints him as the perpetrator.
As a result Aden is imprisoned in the city gaol. His cellmate for most of this time is a surface dwarf imprisoned on Carta-related charges.
9:30
The Fifth Blight happens! Aden's brother Lornan serves as a soldier in Teryn Loghain's army and escapes a grizzly fate at Ostagar when Loghain calls his infamous retreat.
Later in the year, Gwaren is overrun by Darkspawn. Most of the city is evacuated and Aden's mother and sister escape on a ship to Kirkwall. The prisoners in the gaol are left to fend for themselves, Aden included.
Thanks to the Carta (who had been looking for a good time to spring their colleague from gaol) Aden escapes Gwaren and flees in to the Brecilian Forest.
9:31
Aden quickly learns to survive in the forest and hides out in its depths for the whole of the Fifth Blight and then a few years after for good measure. Whilst there he forms a tribe of runaways and refugees, making a motley crew of wandering vagabonds. Together they live in a kind of woodsy utopia, sharing their food, skills, stories and wealth communally.
9:31-9:35
The commune grows in to a self-sustaining village in the woodlands. In lean times, the 'villagers' strike out and raid along the paths that lead through the forest. They are basically bandits.
9:35
Aden temporarily leaves the Brecilian Forest to find out any news of his mother and sister in Kirkwall (both are alive, Amber with a husband and child) and brothers (Daric a Templar, Lornan now serving under Anora's banner). With his mind at ease, Aden returns to his woodlands bandit utopia.
9:40
The commune is attacked by demons when a rift opens nearby and the entire village is destroyed.
